I checked out this book at the library today, and I am very excited to read it. There is a large population of Hmong immigrants in Minnesota, and after going on a visit to a Hmong home I realized how many tribulations the Hmong people have encountered. I listened to a mother of nine talk about how her people were forced to become refugees during the Vietnam war. I listened to how she came to America to create a better life for her family. I listened to her talk about how important her children’s education is to her. I listened to her talk about her eldest daughter getting a degree from a university. All while tears fell down her face.
